What is that? Is that a Huawei? A Redmi Note 15? No, it’s the new POCO M8. Totally different phone! See, the other phone is for taking notes on what to buy next, this one is for giving as a present for your M8.

Kidding aside, the POCO M8 is the brand’s newest midrange mainstream phone. It has a strong sporty design but its internals could not have been any more underwhelming. Think of it like a Toyota GR Vios of some sorts.

Its main highlight is its sleek curved display, measured at 6.77″ diagonally. This is an OLED display because in the year 2026, anything but OLED at the midrange is blasphemy. POCO/Xiaomi calls it “Flow AMOLED” but don’t worry, it’s just their marketing term for a display with a high refresh rate. Specifically, 1-120Hz. This display has a FHD+ resolution.

While the camera island suggests four working lenses, there are only actually two. Well, one because the other is a 2MP depth sensor. In the big 2026 of all by the way. The main camera is a 50MP sensor and they call it Light Fusion 400 but it’s just a marketing term for the Omnivision OV50B. The front features a 20MP selfie camera.

As for performance, the POCO M8 features last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen3 because Xiaomi probably could not justify using a Gen4 with its asking price. This chipset is coupled with 8GB RAM and 256 or 512GB ROM.

Speaking of performance, the battery of the POCO M8 is 5520mAh. Nothing out of the ordinary. This is complemented with 45W fast charging on a USB-C 2.0 port.

Among other features, the phone includes an in-display fingerprint reader, IR Blaster, and NFC.

AVAILABILITY:

The POCO M8 is available for PHP 12,999 and PHP 14,999 for the 8/256 and 8/512 options respectively. The phone is available via Shopee only and from this day of posting, you have three days left to purchase it on its early bird price and regular sales will start soon right after.
