We’re trying to experiment with more clickbait-y titles so you would ACTUALLY read what we’re posting.
Alongside the POCO F8 twins, POCO/Xiaomi launched two new tablets. One for the everyday casual and the other for the determined power user. These two tablets are the POCO Pad M1 and the more powerful X1. The latter has a more aggressively subtle design while the former has a simpler “made for work” design.
POCO Pad M1
Upon first glance, the Poco Pad M1 doesn’t seem to be that special. It has that typical tablet look comprising of a large 12-inch display and an aluminum frame. However, just like many sleeper builds, it’s what’s under the hood that’s truly important. As they say, “don’t judge the book by its cover”.
Pop the hood and you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset inside. Yes, that’s right. It is a midrange tablet that can handle most productivity apps, drawing apps, and even some heavy games like Wuthering Waves or Genshin Impact, albeit on low-medium settings. This chipset is an underclocked variant of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and is intended for low power consumption than raw performance. Think of it like those “U” labels on Intel or AMD CPUs. The tablet has a modest 8GB RAM and 256GB storage which may be just sufficient for many. If not, the tablet has a microSD card slot and the box that comes with it also includes a dedicated ejector.
Speaking of big displays, the POCO Pad M1 has a 12″ “Crystal-clear” display with Dolby Vision and 2.5K resolution. It is called “crystal clear” because of its high resolution. Its brightness tops at 600nits (HBM) or 500nits (typical). You can tell this is an IPS LCD screen because it lacks features that a typical OLED has, such as AOD, an insanely bright screen, or punchy colours.
Tablets are not known or used widely for their cameras and to save costs, the POCO Pad M1 has an 8MP rear camera, enough to take pictures of the environment around you clearly. The front camera, used for video calls, is also 8MP.
The common trend today in many phones is every brand seems to have a battery size contest. Which company can make their batteries larger while maintaining important components. This affected tablets too, in a good way. At least they set aside all that AI talk nonsense for a while and focus on what’s truly important. When Xiaomi said “massive” they really mean it. The POCO M1 has a massive battery pack, an enormous 12000mAh divided into two 6000mAh cells. If you take a random 10W charger, it would take it forever before it fully charges. Don’t fret, Xiaomi has made sure to include 33W worth of fast charging so you can charge from snail pace to turtle pace. Its large battery meant it can also support 27W of reverse charging. Pretty neat.
The tablet lacks any LTE connectivity, so you’re stuck to just using Wi-Fi. A tablet this big could have some use with mobile data at least. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.4. In addition, the POCO Pad M1 runs on HyperOS 2 for Pad.
Finally, in terms of sound, as with many tablets today, it has a quad speaker system for an immersive movie experience. It’s basically as big as a laptop, might as well use it as one.
The tablet comes in Blue and Grey. It’s now available in the Philippines for PHP 15,999 and can be purchased through Shopee. For a limited time, until December 9, the tablet comes with a keyboard and stickers, and not only that, you can buy it for PHP 12,999.

POCO Pad X1
The other tablet announced, which has a more refined design, is the Pad X1. It is a powerful midrange tablet with specs to match, including a high-res 144Hz IPS LCD screen with nearly 4K resolution. The Pad X1 now feels closer to a handheld movie theater.
Aside from that, it is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset which means, in contrast with the Pad M1, is designed with performance in mind. Not flagship performance but can handle tasks and apps better than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. This tablet also sadly has only 8GB LPDDR5X RAM but double the storage. Unlike the Pad M1 which uses USB 2.0, the Pad X1 uses a more modern and much faster USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, making file transfers seamless.
The tablet also comes in blue and grey but the camera island’s ring on the grey colour features a yellow outline which help it stand out among the crowd. Though the island suggests that it may have more than one camera, looks can be deceiving, as the Pad X1 has a single rear camera, 13MP. Meanwhile, the front video calling camera has retained its 8MP resolution. Xiaomi also mentioned of an IR Blaster hidden somewhere on the device. Yes, it does look silly using a massive 11-inch tablet as a remote control. Despite its massive size, it weighs only half a kilo (without accessories of course).
This might baffle you but the supposed more powerful, more power-draining Pad X1 apparently has a smaller battery pack. Its size has been reduced by nearly a quarter to what the Pad M1 is having, a modest 8850mAh. Though, POCO compensated with a slightly faster 45W fast charging. You may be asking why not have this 45W charge on the Pad M1. It mainly boils down to costing as having both a large battery and faster charge could mean extra costs on Xiaomi’s part, lessening their chances of selling the tablet at an efficient price.
As with the Pad M1, the Pad X1 runs HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 16. Also like it, it lacks any LTE connectivity, so you’re stuck with just using Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4
The POCO Pad X1 is now available for Filipino users, and as with the Pad M1, comes with a backlit keyboard and POCO stickers. The tablet also has pen support but the pen itself must be purchased separately. As for the price, it is available for PHP 24,999, although temporarily discounted to PHP 19,999 and you can only find it on Lazada.
