The Itel Zeno 10 Is Your Typical Budget Phone with a Custom Case

It’s like every other budget phone… well except it’s got a unique case.

In India, Itel launched a new budget phone called the Zeno 10. It looks like every budget phone made from 2022 onwards, but its main selling point is the case. In a way, you’re paying for a pretty pricey case than the phone itself.

The phone is designed for Gen Z users who are looking for a smartphone “that just works”, hence the radical-like name, affordable price, and aggressive case design. It comes in two colours: Phantom Crystal and Opal Purple but who cares, you’re going to slap a case on it and you won’t even see the colours.

From the surface, it uses a 6.56″ IPS LCD screen with HD+ (1500x720px) resolution. It runs a lighter version of Android 14 called Android 14 Go with HiOS 14 on top. It is coupled with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front housed on a waterdrop notch. It uses an unspecified octa-core chipset paired with 3 or 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with a MicroSD Card to store all other media, because 64GB is obviously no longer enough. For a phone revolving around a modern and sleek design, it sure feels outdated.

The phone has a USB-C port, a 3.5mm jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The phone is priced at INR 5,699 (~PHP 3.8K) for the 3/64 variant and INR 5,999 (~PHP 4K) for the 4/64 variant. It is available currently only in India and we are yet to know whether Itel has plans bringing the phone to other countries, such as the Philippines.

Now, if you’ve read all the specs and looking at its design, you’ll notice that the Zeno is a rehashed Itel A70, a common practice for smartphone brands that want to save money on making a new phone but bringing it back on the market with some extra gimmicks.
