We’re at a period when 5G phones are more and more accessible.
Just a few weeks ago, Itel teased a new and upcoming smartphone, the Itel P55 5G (though it was already available in India) in Shopee. In the listing, it hyped users by saying it is priced at PHP 4,xxx. However, the actual price is much higher. Somehow deceptive but it is still a great phone buy because at a sub PHP-6K range, you would mostly get a phone with a MediaTek Helio G85 or G88 chipset.
What’s most amazing about this phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 (aka Dimensity 810) chipset inside. It’s quite rare to see it at this price range and this just means that 5G-ready phones are becoming more accessible. There is also the TCL 20R 5G and the Cherry Aqua S10 Pro 5G as alternatives. Although both of these are getting harder to find.
To recap, the phone, aside from its decent chipset, is very typical. It comes with a 6.6″ HD+ screen with 90Hz refresh rate, a 50MP Primary camera, an 8MP selfie, a 3.5mm jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and a USB-C port. There is also virtual RAM, a dual SIM slot, and a microSD Card slot.
It is priced in Shopee for PHP 5,899 (6/128). Two colours are available: Mint Green and Galaxy Blue.
