ICYMI: realme Launches a Worry-Free “Durable” Phone, the realme C75

It’s durable… err… uhmm… yeah.

The realme c75 was released just a week ago, and it already has made waves online. Though, real wave splashes possibly cannot hurt the phone due to its supposed durability.

As part of a viral marketing move, the phone, prior to being released, were given away to a few lucky users. The design of the realme C75 is reminiscent of OPPO phones like the Oppo Reno 12 with a metal-like premium finish. Its main feature is that the phone can survive any challenging environment thanks to its IP69 water/dust resistance rating. Do note that being water resistant does not equate to being waterproof. There is no such thing as a waterproofed phone.

realme spent a lot on making the phone durable but also forgot to make the phone competitive. It is priced PHP 8,999 (8/128) or PHP 10,999 (8/256) and it offers little value outside of its large battery and IP rating.

The display is protected through what realme calls “ArmorShell” protection. It has FHD+ resolution (2400x1080px) with 90Hz refresh rate, typical for a phone of this type. It also comes with the mundane 50MP primary camera and a modest 8MP selfie shooter.

You may see the phone advertised as having the “new” MediaTek Helio G92-Max. Keep in mind this is just the Helio G85 rebranded and refurbished. It comes with the same internals, such as the ARM Mali-G57 MC2 which is pretty dated by today’s standards. That GPU can only handle casual games, so if you run Wuthering Waves on it, the phone may have a heart attack. If you wanted to game, the C75 isn’t that phone. And probably why it’s durable. You’ll rage so much you will throw the phone at a nearby wall, and the phone will not be smashed into oblivion.

It comes in the iconic Lightning Gold as well as Storm Black. Among other features, it has a USB-C port, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, and a single speaker. Though you bet there would also be the gimmicky extra volume feature. Virtual RAM is also an option.
