This is also realme’s first entry this year in the Philippines.
When you look at newly released phones for the past few months, you’ll notice that the trend is going from bigger batteries or better cameras, to making phones extra durable. Well… some at the cost of their performance, probably why they’re made durable. Just in case you’re phone is stuttering so hard, you can throw it at a nearby wall and it won’t break. See? It’s a fair exchange.
The “Worry-proof” C75 has been teased, and in the Philippines, this phone was teased the most surprising way possible: by giving them away! Yeah, you’re like a beta tester for the new phone before it is even sold to the public.
The design feels reminiscent of the Oppo Reno12, complete with the premium metal-like finish. On realme’s website, there are two colours available: Lightning Gold and Storm Black. The main highlight of this phone is its IP69 rating which does not come cheap, so sadly, the phone has to make some brash sacrifices.
The phone boasts two things. First, the IP69 rating, typically only available with flagships. This means the C75 can resists strong jets of water and is basically dust-tight. The other is the large 6000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. It is a phone that uses a Silicon-Carbon (SiC) composite that ensures that the battery has larger capacities without affecting its size. Phones this year are expected to more commonly use this type of composite.
It features realme’s “ArmorShell” glass, with drop resistance that feels similar to flagship phones. So, in a way, it’s like the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but of course, there may be some sort of catch we are not aware of.
Remember what we said about this phone being durable that you can throw it at a wall and it would be fine? Well, prepare to do exactly that because the chipset used is the MediaTek Helio G92-Max. Wait, hold on? A new chipset??? Nahhh, it’s actually a slightly improved Helio G85 with support for higher refresh rates. That’s basically about it. If you’re getting the C75 because you wanted to game on the cheap, this isn’t it. The G92 still uses the ageing Mali-G57 MC2 graphics card, which will make rendering of distance objects slow and cause your device to heat up. At least it’s durable!
The realme C75 also boasts a 50MP primary camera and two other unwanted guests. The selfie camera has a resolution of 8MP. Adequate enough for social media posting.
