Quiet lunches typically mean that the phone is a filler… hmmmmm

Hold on, the X8c launched? Why isn’t there fanfare about it? Many brands launch different phones at the same time to the point that some launches have to be sacrificed because they are not as significant. The X8b launched last year with a well-wrapped hype, specifically, about its soft leather casing. The X8c is a continuation of that trend, and its design feels familiar as well.

The phone comes in four colours, including its unique Marrs Green scheme. Yes, that’s how it is spelled. The design of this colour is inspired from the Scottish Taylor River and is made of a vegan leather material. There are three other colours too, if uniqueness is not your cup of tea. These include Midnight Black, Moonlight White, and Cloud Purple. The purple one looks pretty though.
While last year’s X8b used the Snapdragon 680, here, the X8c uses a slightly better Snapdragon 685. Its performance should not be too different from the X8b, and you might not even tell the difference, especially when running the same game, or doing the same tasks. The phone has 6 or 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.
You’re not going to use the X8c for games though. No, instead, you’re supposed to use it like a budget camera. It features two powerful cameras for its type, the 108MP main and the 50MP selfie with a dedicated physical softlight.
While its performance is not its proudest feature, and keep in mind, not all phones have to be all-performance or all-gaming because not every smartphone user is a gamer, its display is pretty good for a budget phone. The display measures 6.7″ diagonally with a FullHD+ (2412x1080px) resolution, and AMOLED. We’re a little surprised to know that Honor isn’t promoting this phone as much, since it does offer a lot of good things that are absent on the X8b, such as this display, the very bright 2800nits display with 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is equipped with a typical 5000mAh battery with 35W fast charging. The charger is included with your purchase. What’s also included in your purchase are the in-display fingerprint scanner, USB-C port, and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Honor X8c boots with MagicOS 9 based on Android 14. The phone also boasts IP64 dust/splash resistance. That’s pretty neat.
There is no word yet of the X8c being released officially in the Philippines. We would know, because Honor Philippines would announce it.
