If every time Honor tried to set a world record, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

The Honor X9c is launching today, but before that, to tense up the hype about it being durable, Honor Philippines asked its community and its contributors in order to attempt a world record last January 6th, which was not revealed until the day of the event. This is also the second time Honor partnered with Guinness World Records for its official world-breaking attempt.
The first time Honor attempted to do a world record was with the Honor Magic5 Pro, in particular, the phone was used to record the “Highest Between the Legs Slam Dunk” held in the United Kingdom back in January 2023. A very specific record indeed. Yes, they did beat this record too.
For the brand’s second attempt, the record in question was “Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously“, wherein 264 people dropped the X9c in unison. The event was held in Makati, and the record was part of a collaborative effort to highlight the Honor X9c’s durability, and its moniker of “World’s Toughest Phone”.
The X9 series is often marketed for its durability, in particular, with its display. However, with the X9c, the brand strives to do it farther, now with the entire phone being highlighted with durability. It even has an IP65 rating to prove it.
The X9c is a midrange phone from Honor, and it is the third generation of the X9 series featuring a new design, a more powerful 108MP primary camera with OIS, bigger battery made with an SiC composite, and faster charging. The phone is set to be released today at 6PM, with some very lucky users having the chance to win a new Rolex watch worth PHP 600K!
Its price will be confirmed today, so don’t miss out.
