ICYMI: The Splashproof Honor X7C has Launched!

You might have seen this one waterboarded, drowned, and dunked.

Just a few weeks ago, Honor launched a budget phone with a focus on durability and water resistance. The phone turned out to be the X7c. Its main feature is its IP64 splash/dust resistance

Aside from its supposed water resistance, the phone also has other features going for it. For instance, it features a large 6000mAh battery with 35W fast charging, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, a 108MP camera, and a textured leather back. It has many features but also some drawbacks.

For instance, the display is mediocre, a 6.77″ HD+ TFT LCD screen with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The selfie camera only has 5MP resolution, and an ageing (but somewhat still competitive) chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685.

The phone is available in all Honor concept stores nationwide as well as online, through Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopee. For the price, it’s PHP 8,999. It comes in a special Frost Green colour as well as the signature Midnight Black and Moonlight White colours. Only the green one is actually textured.

The phone runs MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14. It also has a “stereo” speaker with 300% volume, a headphone jack, and of course, USB-C.

Water resistance disclaimer/footnote

*Please do note, while Honor’s ads show the phone being tortured in different situations, such as being washed for 3 minutes, being dunked on, and drowned in water, the actual durability still depends on user care, and that most of these are simulated. IP64 is dust and splash resistant, but not completely water resistant like with IP67 or IP68 ratings. When visiting Honor’s website, make sure to read the fine print carefully before making a purchase. Also, it is stated that water damage is NOT COVERED under the warranty.
