Everything is good in this phone, at least price-wise (what a surprise). Well except for that damn notch.

THIS is the vivo Y27s. Actually, there are two phones in the series both of which are identical apart from the RAM/Storage. If you read the first sentence with Doug Demuro’s voice. Congrats, you get a bonus point and you’re cultured.

When vivo gave us the press release, the brand highlighted the phone’s battery and charging. See, the Y27s comes with a 5000mAh battery with 44W fast charging in a nice PHP 9,999 (8/256) price tag. Certainly you’re looking for the catch right? What did the brand sacrifice or change to achieve this fast charging? Well, I’m glad you asked so now we can dissect the specs.

Let’s see here… the phone’s got a 6.67″ FullHD+ IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP selfie, 4G LTE access, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a trendy yet familiar vivo design language, also a waterdrop notch for some reason even though almost every other phone uses a dot now.

Oh, nothing out of the ordinary but also nothing stranger to a sub-10K phone. The vivo Y27s comes with 128GB storage and with the same specs, this one is a lot more valuable, at PHP 7,999. At least the pricing is more reasonable this time, unlike previous vivo Y-series phones in the past which means the brand is learning and is taking customer feedback well.

Its colours include Garden Green and Burgundy Black. The phone is available for purchase almost anywhere vivo is present, as well as in online e-commerce platforms TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Lazada. There’s also a 5G version available but that’s for another article for another day.
