Redmi Note 13 Series Goes Live Globally on January 15!

That also includes the global release, not just India.

Just two days ago, the Redmi Note 13 Series debuted in India but Xiaomi has confirmed a global release date, too. This will happen on January 15 and will comprise of the Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+

In the Philippines, the phones will debut via a livestream starting at 6PM through Xiaomi Philippines’ Facebook page. As the phones have already launched in India, we already have an idea what the phones look like and its specs. All we really have to do now is wait for its actual price here in the Philippines.

Ever since the Redmi Note 11 series, the Redmi Note line has become Xiaomi’s mainstream lineup, with the base phone targeted towards entry-level and budget-conscient consumers while the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Plus are leaning towards premium users more. The line also got simpler, although in traditional Xiaomi fashion, there are several “minor” Redmi Note phones that are going to be released which are essentially just rebranded or renamed smartphones. One example is the Redmi Note 10 Lite wherein it’s just the Redmi Note 9S but renamed.

REDMI NOTE 13:

The Redmi Note 13, finally in full 5G, comes in a design reminiscent of the Redmi Note 12. This budget phone is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset. For the MediaTek veterans, they may know this as the Dimensity 810. Although this chipset is far weaker than the Pro and Pro Plus variants, it boasts good efficiency and balanced performance. The phone comes in various trim levels, starting with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM all the way to 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM. Xiaomi Philippines can decide which trim levels are going to be available for sale here.

Let’s head back to the front where we can witness the FullHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED screen with 60-120Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM Dimming, a rare feature for budget phones. On top of this is the 16MP selfie camera.

Speaking of cameras, the Redmi Note 13 comes with two at the back and its camera island is fashioned similarly to the Xiaomi 13 series of flagship phones. The primary camera is a 108MP camera with 3x “in-sensor” zoom complemented with a 2MP depth helper. The global variant is also said to come with an 8MP ultrawide.

Finally, the Redmi Note 13 uses a typical 5000mAh battery alongside a 33W fast charger. It will launch with MIUI 14 but soon it could be upgraded to use HyperOS as select POCO and Redmi phones globally already run it.

REDMI NOTE 13 PRO and PRO PLUS:

Two identical phones with a small yet significant difference. The Redmi Note 13 Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset while the Note 13 Pro Plus inherits a MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipset. This means the Pro is designed for efficiency while the Pro Plus is designed to handle heavy-duty tasks.

The phones premiered in China with a limited-edition Aape design, featuring a camouflaged back. We took note of this (no pun intended) in our article here.

Their design is reminiscent of the Xiaomi 13 series and both come with a curved OLED display, specifically, a 6.67″ 1.5K (2772x1500px) AMOLED with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and 12-bit colour. Of course, if the base phone has Hi-frequency dimming, so do these two.

The phones are using a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 primary camera with both EIS and OIS installed. The phones aren’t flagships so don’t expect telephoto cameras just yet, so instead, you’re getting an 8MP Ultrawide and a 2MP helper cameras here. The front is the same as the base version, a 16MP sensor.

A 5000mAh battery is present for both phones. However, the Pro Plus has a faster 120W charge instead of the 67W present on the Pro. Both of these phones have an in-display fingerprint scanner, 5G, and Dual-band Wi-Fi.

Thanks to its promotional #EveryShotIconic, the three phones are oriented towards their photographic capabilities. We’re yet to see if these three live up to the hype(rOS).
