After the launch of the Itel S23 Plus, it seems like Transsion loved its design so much that it copy-pasted it to its other brands. The year is about to end but the company isn’t done yet in releasing new phones after new phones. Each one more aggressively priced than the last.
When it comes to the design, Transsion’s phones resemble an iPhone 15 Pro, complete with its own Dynamic Island called “Magic Ring”. Unlike the iPhone, Magic Ring is completely software-based as the phones sport a punch hole selfie camera.
The Infinix Smart 8 is no different. At the back, it appears to have the fancy ring light flash that Vivo initiated. The flash light surrounds an aesthetic hole which is where one of the cameras should be placed.
The Infinix Smart 8 is an ultra budget phone and the design is taken from the HOT 40 series which was just released. In Lazada, the phone costs PHP 3,699 and comes with specs you’d expect from a phone of this caliber, plus some extra bells and whistles.
It sports a 6.6″ HD+ 90Hz IPS LCD screen. It’s good to know that consumers have become more aware of their tech needs and that 90Hz is becoming the norm, even for ultra budget phones. Next, the chipset, a UNISOC T606 which is the exact same one as the Hot 40i. The Smart 8 is basically that phone but with the camera resolution cut down from 50MP to just 13MP. This one also has a lower-res display and definitely no fast charging.
It comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage, the very minimum a user needs to run even basic apps. No storage to store photos? No problem! Just insert a MicroSD Card inside the phone. It also comes with the very gimmicky Virtual RAM.
Just like many other phones Infinix has released, the Smart 8 features DTS Audio enhancement, plus 200% volume because the phone lacks stereo speakers and this artificial volume increase should somehow compensate for it. It comes with a USB-C port which can be used to charge the 5000mAh battery inside or transfer files. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock completes the handset.
It is available in Timber Black, Shiny Gold, and Crystal Green.
