Redmi 13C but POCO-fied… and bootloopified
On POCO India’s Twitter page, the brand has announced a new budget phone coming their way, the POCO C65. From the design, it’s reminiscent of both the Redmi Note 13 and the Redmi 13C which is also set to launch before the year ends. Seems like POCO will be launching first. The POCO C65 is launching on November 5th.
Despite its suggestive design, the phone is once again another typical budget phone in the sea of budget phones. There is already a price listing here in the Philippines but before we get to that, let’s discuss the spec sheet.
First and foremost, the POCO C65 is using a 6.74″ FullHD+ IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. It uses the ol’ reliable, if not dated, MediaTek Helio G85 which is now the default chipset of choice for phones priced at a sub-6K point. The chipset is optimized and has been proven to be smooth and efficient for budget phones. It seems like the stock for G25 and G35 chips have been depleted.
At the back is a 50MP Primary Camera and two nobodies. The front features a dewdrop cutout like in the old Redmi Note 7 days. Inside, you’ll also find the 5000mAh battery that charges via an 18W USB-C 2.0 port. The 18W charger comes alongside it. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner and 4G LTE are also present on this phone.
It boots POCOUI based on MIUI 13 which is in turn a fork of Android 13. In the Philippines, the phone is priced at PHP 4,999 for the 6/128 configuration, and PHP 5,999 for the 8/256 configuration. Remember that this is the early bird pricing so the actual price is a little different, and possibly, a little higher. It will be on sale the next day, November 6th.
