Oppo has released a new phone in the popular A-series, the A18! It is an ultrabudget phone but with a beautiful design. We got ours in Glowing Blue but a Glowing Black option is available. We can’t wait to share with you our thoughts about it. It’s going to be unbiased to say the least.
While Oppo is infamous for releasing budget phones at a questionable price point, the A18 is surprisingly priced pretty well for what it offers. The display is nothing too special. It’s a 6.5″ HD+ “IPS LCD “Sunlight Display” but get this, it has a 90Hz refresh rate, something that’s really not seen in phones within its price range. Though, it still has that waterdrop notch that houses the 5MP selfie camera.
The Sunlight Display is designed so that you can still use the phone even under bright sunlight. Given how bright the Oppo A58 is, we’re expecting a similar experience with the A18.

One of the main things Oppo promotes about the phone is its large 5000mAh battery. It is also charged via a 10W USB-C port. Like the Oppo A58 which we reviewed a few months back, the A18 uses a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset with 4GB RAM and either 64 or 128GB storage.
It features an 8MP primary camera and, as mentioned a 5MP selfie shooter. The secondary camera is a mono lens which supposedly helps in portrait shots. Oppo is also boasting its 36-month fluency and how the phone is designed to last, which is a pretty bold claim since most budget phones are designed to be replaceable.
