The HONOR X9b Is Official! Comes with the Same Toughened Glass as the X9a!

Drop this one and the floor’s dead. (Unless you’re a Nokia. In this case, the entire building collapses).

The Honor X9a is a commercially successful phone, even in the Philippines. It’s successful enough even to warrant a sequel, and we’re also partly expecting a sequel for the X6a, X7a, and the X8a.

The X9b is built from the experience gained on the Honor X9a. It features the same toughened glass and curved OLED screen but this has a clearer resolution. Also, it now uses a more modern Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and a newer 108MP Samsung ISOCELL primary camera. Most importantly, it has an even larger 5800mAh battery with 35W fast charging. The slower charging speed is probably why “fast charging” isn’t highlighted as much in the marketing material. The X9a has 40W.

Unlike the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is fabricated on a 6nm Samsung process. The larger battery is also tested to be durable and can last up to three years without it depreciating heavily. After 1000 full and complete charge cycles, battery health is still above or around 80%

Aside from the 108MP Primary camera (with 3x lossless zoom), the 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro remains. Might as well not include either, or perhaps increase the ultrawide quality to 12MP, like in the Honor 90. The front camera is also the same, a 16MP f/2.45 shooter with up to 1080p video.

It comes in three colours. Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and the leather Sunset Orange. Emerald Green is also used on the Magic 5 Pro while Midnight Black is a signature colour. Honor Philippines is yet to tell us what colours are to be brought here but our best guess is that the Midnight Black and Sunset Orange will be making their presence.

HiHonor’s website did not reveal the availability nor pricing so we have to wait for Honor Philippines’ response for local availability as well as its price. It comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM. If we were to guess, it would be priced similarly to the X9a but slightly more or less. It could be priced around 15,999-19,999 but not more than that.
