Realme Launches a Sequel to Their Popular Tablet! The Realme Pad 2

A budget tablet with a more powerful Helio G99 chipset AND Hi-Res Audio!

Realme sold enough tablets to warrant a sequel. Now it comes with a fresh new design while retaining its premium aluminum look and virtually bezel-free display experience. The Realme Pad 2 is first available in India and caters to creative people, hence why its colour names are Inspiration Green and Imagination Grey.

The tablet is now slightly larger, at 11.5″. It comes with a 2K display (2000x1200px) just like the previous tablet but now has 120Hz refresh rate which could be toned down to 40Hz at minimum. The bigger display means more space to watch movies and TV shows immersively.

The tablet is made more powerful with the inclusion of a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. Unlike the previous tablet, the Realme Pad 2 has LTE connectivity so you could put a SIM Card in and make calls and use data. The tablet has 8GB RAM (+8GB Virtual) and either 128 or 256GB ROM.

It is powered by a large 8360mAh battery paired with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. This charging rate will feel a little slow considering the massive battery size. However, you may only need to charge it once or twice a day with its all-day battery. According to Realme, the tablet lasts 17 hours while watching videos and 190 hours while listening to music.

Cameras are usually not that important when it comes to tablets, so you get your basic 8MP primary camera and another 8MP for selfies and video calls. No flashlight either.

Finally, you have your quad-speaker system with Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos. It appears to not have a headphone jack but with a tablet this massive, it’s not necessary. As for connectivity, you get 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

It is priced at INR 19,999 (~PHP 13.3K) for the 6/128 version and INR 22,999 (~PHP 15.4K) for the 8/256 variant. No word has been made on whether the device will launch in the Philippines. However, considering the Realme Pad 1’s success, it’s more than likely we’ll get an even better sequel. That’s a rare occasion where the sequel is better than the original.
