HONOR Philippines unveiled the MagicBook X15 and the Honor 7a. Two powerhouses for productivity!

The Honor 7a is a budget phone by the way, and the MagicBook X15 is like a distant relative of the MateBook D15

We previously discussed the Honor X7a and the MagicBook X14/X15 as the company has been teasing these two devices for a while after the success of the X9a. This successful sale boosted the company’s confidence in the Philippine market and so has started bringing in more products. This time, they brought two: a budget phone, the X7a, and a productivity ultrabook, the MateBooK X15. They debuted yesterday, 22nd February

Honor X7a

To recap, the Honor X7a is a redesigned and watered-down variant of the X7. Instead of the 6nm Snapdragon 680, it features a MediaTek Helio G37. And due to that, it is also priced cheaper, at Php 7,999. Like the X7, it boasts a large battery, 5330mAh versus the usual 5000mAh on many other phones. It also features a 6.75″ HD+ (1600x720px) IPS LCD screen, a 50MP triple camera setup, and USB-C charging with 22.5W fast charging.

It is available in Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black colours and is available through Lazada, Shopee, authorized 3rd-party stores, and Honor’s own kiosks. When you order, you would also get a FREE pair of HONOR Earbuds worth Php 1,590 which would be available as a freebie until supplies last.

HONOR MagicBook X14/15

The MagicBook X14/15 is the first laptop HONOR brought to the Philippine market. Seeing that there is a need for more productivity horses at affordable prices, Honor decided to release their own ultrabook. The MagicBook X14/15. As we mentioned earlier, the design of this ultrabook reminds us a lot of the Huawei MateBook D14/15 which wouldn’t be a surprise as the company was once part of it. Now that they’re independent, they need to start somewhere, and so they’re using design blueprints they have before. Most of which were designed by their former parent company.

Both laptops have identical internals and design. The only major differences are its display size and battery capacity. Which, as you could already tell, the MagicBook X14 has a 14″ screen while the MagicBook X15 has a 15.6″ screen. Interestingly enough, the X14 has a larger 56Whr battery while the X15 only has 42Whr. Both charge via a 65W USB-C port by the way.

The Philippines gets the Intel Core i3-1115G4 dual-core processor with Intel UHD integrated graphics for the X14 and the Intel Core i5-1135G7 with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics for the X15. These laptops are paired 8GB LPDDR4 dual-channel RAM and a 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (for the X14) or a 512GB SSD storage for the X15. For a productivity workhorse, one would think that Honor would bump it to at least 12GB since 8GB is just the bare minimum even on light workloads. But hey, the laptop looks pretty and premium, you’d definitely forget that it has underpowered specs inside.

Also, only the X14 has a backlit keyboard. Both have a power button-embedded fingerprint reader thankfully. It has a small amount of ports consisting of 2x USB-A ports (2.0 and 3.1) a single USB-C port for data transfer and charging, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The X14 and X15 are surprisingly not names for an HP laptop and they come only in a Space Grey colour option. Fool your friends you have a MacBook thanks to this colour scheme. At least you can have somewhat a glimpse with it. Also, the laptops come with a multi-screen sharing app which allows you to seamlessly transfer files to your phone to PC without ever connecting them using a cable.

The price for the X14 is Php 29,990 and the X15 is Php 37,990. Those who purchase the laptops from February 22-28 will receive a FREE HONOR Backpack and Speaker. They are available online in Lazada and Shopee as well as through official distributors.
