How tough is the glass really?
Just right after the New Years’ celebration, Honor announced that they want to be the very best smartphone maker like no one ever was. To catch them is their real test, and to sell their phones is their cause. And yes, Honor will travel across the land, searching far and wide. This is to help them find their rightful place. I know, it’s their destiny.
The Honor X9a 5G is the first phone Honor released this year. It is an update to the X9a. It has a similar design but the company is boasting its “ultra-tough OLED Curved Display” here. Among other differences, there’s also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset, an upgrade over the 4G-only Snapdragon 680 the X9a has.
Speaking of the display, this is actually 6.67in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) curved AMOLED screen with 1.07 billion colours and 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone will have a 64MP “super triple camera system” (it’s just the 64MP+5MP UW+2MP Macro, don’t worry about it). The front camera is the standard 16MP sensor found on many other phones. The circular camera layout actually reminds us of the Magic series of flagship phones. So now, you’re reminded that you’re actually holding a midrange phone that looks like a flagship. That’s premium!
There is a large 5100mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The brand claimed that the phone could last up to 2.5 hours on video streaming so users need not to worry about their phone’s battery endurance. On stand-by, Honor claims 2 days worth.
It has a 3.5mm jack, an in-display fingerprint scanner, USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual-band Wi-Fi, and Dual NanoSIM slot. It runs MagicUI based on Android 12.
Save the date as the phone will be announced via live stream on January 19th. Watch and share the event so you too can win the new Honor X9a with toughened glass. While Honor did not specify which glass it uses, we’re guessing it’s definitely not Gorilla Glass but rather a variant of Kunlun Glass used on Huawei smartphones.
The event is live via Facebook at 7PM Philippine Standard Time.
