ICYMI: The MegaBook T1 is now available in the Philippines! It comes with a 10th-gen Intel Core i5 at Php 30K

That’s quite a steal!

During the IFA 2022 event, Tecno revealed its first notebook, the MegaBook T1. And they have shown off that the laptop has a decent specs-to-price ratio, and it’s mindblowing because it’s cheaper than most mainstream laptops. Of course, if Infinix has their own laptop, and so does Itel, Tecno wanted a piece of that pie too, they can’t be left out.

To recall, this is a lightweight laptop made with an aluminium chassis. It has a nearly bezel-less 15.6in. FHD+ (1920x1080px) display with 350nits of brightness and TUV Lande certification. The laptop itself can be folded up to 180 degrees flat. Its power button also has a fingerprint scanner embedded onto it. Also, the keyboard is backlit and has a built-in number pad.

It has a 70Wh battery charged by a 65W Gallium Nitrate charger. For a first time, Tecno is quite competitive and has researched their competitors well. For a laptop priced at Php 29,999, it comes with a 10th-gen Intel Core i5 paired with an SSD storage and LPDDR4X RAM. To keep costs low, Tecno decided to not include a dedicated GPU, and so this one comes with Intel Iris Xe instead.

In terms of audio, Tecno said they have enhanced it through the Holographic Sound system with DTS support and ENC technology, so we’re expecting a loud and rich sound experience from a laptop. If you have a Tecno phone, you can now easily pair it so that you can seamlessly transfer files from one place to another through a mirroring system called Tecno Link.

In terms of ports, you got the usual ones. These include USB-A 3.0, USB-A 3.1, USB-C, TF Card Reader, Kensington Lock, 3.5mm jack, and even an HDMI, something you will now rarely find on a slim laptop. We forgot to mention that this laptop is only 14.8mm thin and only 1.48kg heavy with its included battery.

It starts at Php 29,999 for the 8/512 version. There are also the 12/512 and 16/1TB variants which cost Php 32,999 and Php 36,999 respectively. For a laptop with mainstream specs, these offerings are pretty wild and affordable. A definite recommend for those dealing with moderate video editing, 3D rendering, and medium intensity gaming.
