Honor officially launches the X7, X8, X9, Magic4 Pro, and Band 6 to the Philippines, marking their official return!

HONOR-ific comeback!

Due to Honor’s extensive marketing, it has become obvious on which phones and devices Honor would first bring to the country to mark their official return. Took about two years which is frankly, not very long considering other brands like Sony, Acer, and partly, Lenovo (Motorola is still around) still have to make a comeback here.

We already made an article regarding the specs of all four phones, so we’re just going to keep it short here.

HiHonor X7, X8, and X9

These three phones are quite like siblings. They have several similarities but also have some noticeable differences to tell them apart. Some of their similarities include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset inside and a quad camera setup.

Besides that, all three highly differ in terms of RAM/storage, display, display cutout, battery and charging, and even cameras.

The Honor X7 is the only one of the three to not feature a hole punch. Instead, it uses a dewdrop notch to house its 8MP front camera. it is also the most budget of the three, sporting a lower-res HD+ (1612x720px) IPS LCD screen. It comes with a 48MP main camera paired with not-so-useful 5MP+2MP+2MP quad camera setup. The term is just marketing talk at this point, especially when talking about non-flagship phones.

It is paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset. Also inside, is a 5000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging which is done using the USB-C port. It also has a headphone jack and a Dual-SIM slot.

It does not feature 5G services but has access to Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and 4G LTE. It comes in Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, and Titanium silver colour iterations. We’ll update this page as soon as the official outlets become live. Price fo the X7 starts at Php

Meanwhile, the Honor X8 and X9 are closely similar, apart from the design. The X8 features a cube camera design and a glass-like back while the X9 resembles that of the Huawei P40 due to its circular camera. Honor positions itself similarly to Oppo and Vivo. Their attractive and shiny premium-like design are what makes an Honor phone a little pricey.

Unfortunately, the X8 runs Android 11 with MagicUI 4.2 on top which is dated nowadays.

HONOR Magic4 Pro

The Honor Magic4 Pro is the only flagship that Honor decided to bring to the Philippines. For those who are asking, the Magic4 Ultimate isn’t here and no, there’s no regular Magic4 either.

The main highlight of the event, the Magic4 Pro brings everything that Honor stood for: powerful image production held inside a beautiful glass sandwich. It features a quintuple camera, three of which are useful and the other two are assistants. There is also a dual front camera, a 12MP main sensor and a 3D depth helper, which is equally as useful as the ones used at the front.

The display is a 6.81in. Curved OLED with 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, 1.07 billion colours. and is IMAX Certified so you’re guaranteed the highest definition video for apps like Netflix.

The three main cameras include the 50MP main (with OIS) and ultrawide cameras, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 100x digital zoom and also with OIS. The other two include the 3D time-of-flight camera and anti-flicker sensor.

It uses the Samsung-made Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset based on a 4nm process. This is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It also comes with Virtual RAM support and is also powered by a 4500mAh battery with a stupidly fast 100W fast charging.

It has access to Google services you love, 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6/6E, and NFC. It has stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and Facial Recognition, a feature better than face unlock as it scans all the tiny bits of your face instead of heavily relying on the camera.

It comes in Gold, Cyan, and Black. Price is Php52,990 and is available in online retailers like Lazada and Shopee.

HONOR Band 6

A square fitness band with all the features of the Honor Band 5 which wasn’t released here. It can also function as a smartwatch, a notification screen, and a sleep monitor.
