The Tecno Pop 6 is a budget phone with a dewdrop notch

Another typical budget phone on the scene.

The Tecno Pop 6 is a budget phone released in Nigeria and replaces the previous Pop 5. At the front, there’s a noticeable LED flash for brighter selfies that will make you blind every time you use it. In all other respects, it is another typical budget phone.

Sporting upfront is a dewdrop cutout 6.1in. HD+ (1560x720px) IPS LCD screen. There are only two cameras at the back which means fewer gimmicks. It supports a rather low-res 5mp primary camera complemented with a VGA camera as its secondary. The notch houses a 5mp camera with LED flash.

It packs an unnamed 1.3GHz octa-core chipset complemented with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It is expandable via MicroSD card. It has a 5000mAh battery charged on an ancient MicroUSB port that even Europe is trying to phase out. However, this phone is not intended for that market so there is not much of a problem there.

It has a rear fingerprint scanner and boots Android 11 Go. It has 4G LTE services, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2. It also has a headphone jack, something most flagships don’t have in exchange for better speakers and/or better wireless audio quality.

The phone is priced around USD 130 (~Php 7K) for the Nigerian market. Official price is yet to be announced as well as availability elsewhere. It comes in Sea Blue, Sky Blue, and Lime Green colourways.
