Hardware-wise, it’s not the best in terms of price, but it makes up for it through its handful amount of software tweaks and improvements
With the Oppo Reno8 now released in China (and the Reno7 series not being a year old), it is now the time to release the successor to the Reno6 series, as that series is now getting a little more dated. For instance, all phones of the Reno7 series are 5G capable, making them more future-proof
Oppo has brought the Reno7 5G to the Philippines with a stylish and eye-catching design as well as software enhancements that could bring your photography and vlogging game to the next level! It features a 6.4in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate so that you can view your photos and videos vividly, much more so than typical IPS LCD screens. The refresh rate can also be reverted back to the usual 60Hz if preferred.
Under the hood is the Mediatek Dimensity 900 chipset which also offers Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It is a 6nm chipset capable of handling demanding tasks and processes. Also, the small fabrication process means it is power-efficient. This is coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The RAM can be virtually expanded by taking a slice of the storage, up to 5GB. That’s just how Virtual RAM Expansion works. This can be temporarily used so that you can ensure a lag-free and smooth performance, even with the most intense multi-tasking and gaming.
In addition to its gaming-level chipset, Oppo also boasts gameplay enhancement features so that you can ensure a smooth-sailing and comfortable match while you play. This includes the Quick Startup feature that allows your most-used games to run in the background so that you can get back to them more conveniently. Another feature is the “AI Frame Rate Stabilizer” which uses AI processing to keep your game running at the most optimal frame rates.
There is a triple camera setup at the back, and a 32mp selfie camera sitting on a dot notch. The primary camera is 64mp complemented with an 8mp ultrawide camera with a 118.9° field of view as well as a 2mp macro. The camera app has several features for users to play around with, and the 32mp front camera assures bright and sharp images even at night. It also makes your vlogs look brighter and more professional.
Finally, we have the battery compartment, consisting of a 4500mAh battery complemented with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging. According to Oppo, the battery can charge from empty to full in just 31 minutes. It also comes with battery-saving features such as Super Power Saving Mode and Nighttime Standby to further maximize battery life.
