This chipset is actually an upgrade over the Hot 11’s Helio G70 chipset. Why not go for Helio G88 is a question.
Two weeks ago, Infinix has released the Hot 12 series comprising of the Hot 12, Hot 12 Play, Hot 12 Play NFC, and Hot 12i. All feature a near-identical design. Their differences lie inside, their hardware, and software.
Starting with the Hot 12, the phone features a 6.82in. HD+ (1612x720px) IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a Helio G85 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. RAM is expandable virtually by 5GB and the storage is expandable via MicroSD card of up to 512TB. It runs Android 12 out of the box.
There are four cameras at the back and an 8mp camera at the punch-hole. The main camera is 13mp while the other three are useless fillers, including a 2mp macro and depth, and the so-called “AI lens”.
It has a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It comes in four colours: Racing Black, Legend White, Origin Blue, and Lucky Green.

HOT 12 PLAY and Hot 12 PLAY NFC
The Hot 12 Play and Hot 12 Play NFC are two identical phones with the difference of the latter having NFC, as obviously stated in its name.
The Hot 12 Play’s design is only slightly different to the Hot 12, with the absence of a fourth camera. Like the vanilla Hot 12, it features a 6.82in. HD+ (1612x720px) 90Hz IPS LCD screen. The company did not specify the chipset used. It is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Infinix did describe the chipset as “high frequency” comprising of two 2GHz performance CPU cores and six 1.7GHz efficiency cores.
The cameras are also unchanged apart from the absence of either the macro or depth, Infinix did not specify.
The 5000mAh battery is still there along with FM Radio, 3.5mm jack, and DTS audio. As mentioned, there is an NFC version of the Hot 12 Play.
Same colours as the Hot 12 are available. Racing Black, Legend White, Origin Blue, and Lucky Green. It runs xOS 10 based on Android 12 out of the box

Infinix Hot 12i
The Infinix Hot 12i is similar in nearly all aspects to the other three, with some small exceptions, such as a slightly smaller screen (6.6 vs 6.8) and no high refresh rate. The phone consists of a 13mp main camera and two QVGA auxiliary cameras. The display has been reduced to a waterdrop instead of a punch-hole.
