Not “Intel” by the way, that’s different!
Itel is that one company we least expect to release something as high-end as a laptop since their entire philosophy is focusing on ultrabudget phones. Well, here we are… They released their first laptop which boasts a large FHD screen and expandable RAM and storage. It’s called the Spirit 1 and we gotta commend them for a creative name, and not another laptop that ends with a -book suffix.
One differentiator from other budget competitors is its size. This one’s large, a 15.6in. laptop unlike the others that’s only 14in. This large laptop also has a numpad on it. It is built upon an aluminum chassis and a plastic monitor.
As Itel focuses on ultrabudget phones, this large laptop is pretty much also in the same segment. Unlike other contemporary laptops that use the latest generation processors, the Spirit 1 uses the 8th generation Intel Core i3, specifically Core i3-8109 dual-core. This processor is paired with the integrated Intel Iris Plus 655 Graphics. This is paired with 8GB DDR4 RAM (expandable up to 32GB) and a built-in 256GB SSD that can be replaced or expanded up to 2TB.
Inside it is a typical 51Whr battery charged via 65W charger and cable. Itel claims it can last up to 8 hours although that depends on how the user uses the laptop. The screen is its biggest selling point. It is a large 15.6″ FHD+ (1920x1080px) IPS LCD screen. This is commendable since laptops of similar price tags would just use a 1366x768px screen and far more inferior chipsets. This is probably the largest budget laptop you can find with a 1080p screen. On top of the bezel is a 720p webcam.
It launches with Windows 10 Home with the capability to upgrade to Windows 11. It has two speakers, each is 3W loud. It has a series of ports including one USB-C port, 3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 RJ45 Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm jack.
The laptop is available in Lazada and is available for an affordable price of Php 22,499. We don’t know how Itel’s customer service compares to larger brands like Acer, Asus, and Lenovo. But if you needed a budget laptop with decent specs, you can’t go wrong with this one.
