We all hope everyone in Ukraine is safe with their families.
Globe and Smart, two of the largest network providers in the Philippines, has announced they will provide support to Filipinos by giving FREE roaming, calls, and text services to everyone stranded in the country as tensions rise between Russia and Ukraine.
Smart is giving about 1000 of its roaming customers in Ukraine a FREE 1GB GigaRoam subscription valid for 5 days that should help them contact their loved ones in times of disaster and war. In addition, customers in Ukraine can also access the GigaRoam manager using their Smart roaming SIM for free.
Globe’s offer is providing Filipinos stuck in Ukraine FREE 15 minutes worth of calls, 15 SMS, and 1GB roaming data all of which are valid for 7 days. They can access this free roaming service by connecting their roaming SIM Card to Globe’s Ukrainian partners, which are Life and Kyivstar. No registration required.
To access calls, dial “+”, then country code, then area code, and finally the phone number (e.g. +63123456789). Alternatively, you can just dial “+” followed by the country code and mobile number, ignoring the area code. To send an SMS, dial “+” followed by the country code and mobile number. To enable roaming, users just need to simply turn on roaming settings on their phone and ensure that they’re connected to either 3G, 4G, or 5G networks.
Stay safe everyone. May you find peace and shelter to everyone affected by the crisis.
