Users who have been patiently waiting for the telco to provide postpaid services would be pleased to hear the news!
The third and newest major telco “DITO” (formerly Mislatel) has announced its plans to bring broadband internet services to the country starting next year; fully competing with Globe and PLDT.
DITO started rolling out publicly in early March this year and has since expanded to even more areas and even more phones. The company started by providing mobile prepaid plans to users that are purchasable through authorised third-party sellers like GCash and Paymaya as well as their own app. Currently, the company has three plans which are all available from their website. The company aims to become a “full-service telco” once its network goals are complete. Basically, be like their competitors Globe and PLDT.
Last September, DITO has covered about 52.75% of the country’s population coverage and has recorded network speeds averaging around 89.1Mbps for 4G and 854Mbps for 5G.
It is unsure yet when are they actually rolling out but it’s nice we already have hints. Competition is a healthy part of maintaining and improving business. We’ll wait until the broadband plans have been set and see if they are actually worth the price.
