New features explored?
Samsung released two new promo videos showcasing OneUI 4, in preparation for the Android 12 stable release. Currently we’re in beta 3. This promo video is most likely referring to the stable build of OneUI 4, which should come out in a few weeks.
The new UI improves from the previous OneUI. The first video starts off by showing the evolution of OneUI, up to the current, OneUI 3. After that, the video proceeds to an aerial shot of some houses with chat bubbles on them, which all refer to customer feedback to what the next OneUI should become. This means that OneUI 4 should be more user-friendly than other previous versions, and the entire video showcases this, even coming with the line “Your Galaxy, Your Way”. New features coming includes dark mode for app icons and new colour palettes. The widgets are now more rounded, opting for a more uniform look.
While there are other things mentioned in the video, the most significant part is at the end, where the company announced that a laptop version called OneUI 4 Book, is coming soon as well.
There are two videos presented for OneUI 4. The second video discusses more of the customisation options that is available for OneUI 4, as well as a few ecosystem-based features such as screen sharing and peer-to-peer file sharing through your Galaxy phone to your Galaxy Book.
There are more other features mentioned, such as photo-editing tools, “extra dim” which allows your phone to be dimmer than the dimmest brightest setting as well as live emoji. We also could not forget that you can now set your widgets as favourites.
The Galaxy Watch 4 was also seen in this video, which is an important strategic part of OneUI 4 since this version is all about customisation and ecosystem.
