Disclaimer: These are LEAKS and may not be too reliable. Let’s wait until Infinix confirms the devices. For now, it will remain a concept phone
Remember the Infinix Zero X? It’s a concept phone created by Infinix and the company had no plans to release it for public use. However, leaks said that the company may be making a retail version of the concept phone.
If you are aware of the Vivo APEX and NEX series, then the same ideal is going on here. Infinix may be planning to release a mass-produced version of their concept phone (Tecno released their high-end Phantom X, so time will tell when Infinix will release their iteration). The Vivo APEX for instance, is the concept device while the NEX series is the retail version.
There will be two phones in the retail version of the concept phone: the base variant and the Pro variant. Both have been leaked through various sources online. Disclaimer: as these are leaks, the specs will definitely change before the actual device would be released or confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt, even the leaks right now aren’t consistent. Leaks stated that the Infinix Zero X Pro would feature a triple camera setup, involving a 108mp main sensor with OIS (yes that one protruding camera at the top), along with a periscope camera with 60x optical zoom. The other camera may be an ultrawide camera, but nothing much has been announced.
For display, both the base variant and the pro variant would feature a 6.7in. AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution. Both will also have a smaller punch-hole cutout for the front camera, though no resolution numbers for the front cam have been announced yet. The Pro variant may get a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner
For performance, the phones are said to come with a nifty midrange Helio G96 processor. The Pro variant has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The reason why they didn’t go for a 5G Dimensity chip is still unknown, but that might change in the future.
For the battery, the Infinix Zero X Pro will feature a 5000mAh battery coupled with either 40W or 50W fast charging. The battery and charging rate are not announced yet for the regular variant.
According to a render by XDA Developers, one possible colour variant of the Zero X will feature a “starry night” design at the back, similar to the Nexus 4 from Google. This is actually a good design choice, as it would stand out from the slabs of glass we have from the market.
Along with the “Pro” variant, the regular Infinix Zero X is also rumoured to be released. The concept device had been listed on Geekbench, with the following specifications: 160W fast wired charging, 50W wireless fast charging, 8GB RAM and Helio G95 SoC. Moreover, the concept phone shown by Infinix features a triple camera setup, matching the one on the images above. This triple camera setup is composed of a high-res main camera (possibly 50 or 108mp), a periscope camera and possibly, an ultrawide camera.
We’ll be making a new article once the phones have been confirmed. Although leaks again said that the phones would be slated for release in Asian and African markets in the upcoming weeks.
