The Oppo Reno 6 series are now official in India! This also includes the world’s first Dimensity 900 phone, as well as one of the first phones with Dimensity 1200 chipset.
Oppo Reno 6 5G
The Oppo Reno 6 is the first phone with a Dimensity 900 chipset, a 6nm chipset with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-G78 GPU with four cores. Other specs include a triple camera setup, one of which is a 64mp camera, while the other two are 8mp ultrawide and a 2mp macro. The cameras can record 4K video. There is also a 32mp selfie camera that can unfortunately only record 1080p video at 30fps. For the display, it uses a 6.43in. AMOLED with 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 as well.
For the battery, you have a 4300mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging. SuperVOOC is Oppo’s proprietary fast charging term. Unfortunately, this doesn’t come with a headphone jack. The Reno 6 5G also gets a UFS 2.1 storage instead of the newer UFS 3.1
In India, you have an 8/128 option and comes in two colours: Aurora and Stellar Black. It starts at INR 29,990 (~Php 20.2K direct). In the Philippines both phones are expected to arrive this August 6th, as per Oppo’s website.
Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G
The Reno 6 Pro 5G, as per the name, is the more powerful version. This one comes with a Dimensity 1200 chipset as well as UFS 2.1 for the international variant. The Chinese variant gets UFS 3.1 however. It uses the same SAMOLED screen as the vanilla variant, but the phone is taller at 6.55in. Like the vanilla variant, this also has 90Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution and is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
For the camera, you get the same 64mp setup as the vanilla variant, but with the addition of the useless 2mp depth sensor, in addition to the already useless 2mp macro sensor. It has also kept the 8mp ultrawide as well as the 32mp selfie camera. For the battery, you get a 4500mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC fast charging.
In India, there’s a 12/256 variant that starts at INR 39,990 (~Php 27K). It comes with the same colour options as the vanilla variant.
As mentioned before, both the vanilla and pro versions are expected to be unveiled in the Philippines this 6th August, as per Oppo’s website.
