Defy your Ruggedness: The Motorola Defy has been released with military-grade durability

The Motorola Defy is a rugged phone from Motorola with “military-grade” durability, using a MIL-STD-810H ruggedness quality standards, IP68 water and dust resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for its screen. The phone has been created under the partner ship of the Bullitt Group.

For the specs, it’s very much a budget midrange with an enhanced durability. It uses a 6.5in. IPS LCD 720p screen protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Motorola claims that its rugged back can survive temperatures as low as -25°C and as high as 55°C. This new phone is also fall-proof from a height of 1.8m, so as long the actual screen isn’t going to land in the impact. For the cameras, a single 48mp shooter is present, coupled with auxiliaries depth and macro cameras with 2mp resolution, you also have a standard 8mp camera for the front. For the processor, it uses the already ageing Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 aided with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone also has large bezels all around it. There is also a 5000mAh battery with 20W fast charging inside, coupled with Motorola’s UX interface, based on Android 11.

For the price, while we don’t see it landing in the Philippines soon, in Europe, the phone costs EUR 329 (~18.9K php) or an equivalent value. The phone would also be for sale in select LatAm markets.
