Huawei released its first foldable, the Huawei Mate X last year. A year later, the Mate XS was launched. Now, Huawei posted on their Weibo page (in Chinese) that the company is releasing its third foldable, dubbed “Mate X2”
The foldable tablet differed to its predecessors in that it folds inwards, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold and its successor, the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The tablet is to be released in China on 22nd February, just a year after the Mate XS release date.
The tablet may sport an 8.01in display with a dimension of 2480 x 2200 when unfolded. When folded, it will sport a 6.45in display. For the internals, it will come with Huawei’s latest flagship processor, the Kirin 9000, and will come with a 50MP camera and 4,400mAh battery. There may be a 16mp shooter for selfies.
One thing is for sure, that this device will most likely not have GMS due to the US Sanctions. However, there are rumours that HarmonyOS may debut on this device, which is yet to be confirmed.
