Still fighting back

Previously, there were stories of OnePlus winding down and being reabsorbed back to Oppo as it continued to lose sales year after year. This rumor spread out so much that the Indian branch had to come out and say the brand is still standing. The OnePlus Nord6 proves that the brand is still alive… but barely.
The Nord series replaced the number series (i.e. OnePlus 15 series) as the brand’s “flagship killer” line, sporting a good balance between photography, gaming, efficiency, and pricing. It is not a top-notch camera shooter like Vivo’s V-series, but also not a tense gaming unit like the POCO X and F series are.
The Nord 6 sports a simplistic design and comes in mint green and black and is promoted as a “OnePlus 15 lookalike”. It is available for Indian users first, but we expect to see it on a far more global scale. In fact, the phone is available for pre-order on April 10, right after Valor’s Day in the Philippines. The phone will be available for purchase via Digital Walker. Its first and original authorized retailer.
In terms of specs, the OnePlus Nord 6’s most defining feature is the flagship-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (3nm) chipset. This is a slightly nerfed variant of the more powerful flagship chip. The phone comes with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. If you were looking for 512GB, this isn’t that phone. For some unknown reason, OnePlus has not included a variant with bigger storage.

The OnePlus Nord 6 comes with a 1.5K AMOLED display with 165Hz refresh rate which is insanely fast, and a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-600 primary camera. As with previous Nord phones, the display is flat. There are two other cameras included with the Nord 6. These are the 8MP Ultrawide and the 32MP selfie camera, both of which are tried and tested within the range.

A curious feature of the Nord 6 is the “Range Rocket” Wi-Fi chip, which the brand says to improve Wi-Fi speeds and range. Theoretically speaking, it should lower the chances of lag. If you’re a heavy gamer, a game being lag-free is a must. Though, signal strength still depends on where you are currently.
Finally, its other features include 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 7, Stereo Speakers with Hi-Res Audio, in-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP68/69K water/dust protection. As mentioned earlier, Indian users enjoy the phone early, while us here in the Philippines would have to wait until tomorrow for pre-orders.
The phone has no prices yet in the Philippines (as of this writing). In India, the phone is priced at INR 38,999 (~PHP 25.2K).
