We aren’t shocked why it’s priced like that.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A37 and A57 5G in the Philippines as per launch tradition. They are the obvious successors to the Galaxy A36 and A56.
The designs didn’t change much from its predecessors. The new A-series devices remain clean and simple, offering three cameras at the back. The Galaxy A37 5G also now uses the same chipset as with the Galaxy A55.
Samsung Galaxy A37 5G:

The middle child of the Galaxy A-series family. The phone has a glossy glass finish with a back design made to mimic ceramic, including the feel. It’s practically the same phone as last year, but with better internals and an upgraded IP rating (IP68 water/dust resistance).
The front houses a notch holding the 12MP selfie camera. The Galaxy A37 5G sports a 120Hz SAMOLED screen with FHD+ (2340x1080px) resolution. A standard for A-series phones of its class. To recall, SAMOLED (or Super AMOLED) is Samsung’s reimagining of the standard AMOLED display and is designed to be brighter and more vibrant.
As we mentioned earlier, the Galaxy A37 5G uses the same chipset as the Galaxy A55, that is, the Samsung Exynos 1380 which uses an AMD-based RDNA architecture for its GPU. The phone has 8GB RAM and either 128 or 256GB ROM.
A triple camera is used for the phone. These include a 50MP main with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro camera. The latter is considered dated by several consumers but is often included for cost-cutting or aesthetic reasons.
With batteries getting bigger on each release, Samsung decided to stay with the good ol’ 5000mAh battery paired with 45W fast charging, which is actually an upgrade from the brand’s standard 25W. Samsung is at least now trying to experiment with faster charging times than usual.
As for everything else, the Galaxy A37 5G boots with Android 16 with OneUI 8.5 on top. The phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB-C port. In addition, the phone has stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio but lacks a headphone jack.

The price for the Galaxy A37 5G are PHP 25,990 (8/128) and PHP 27,990 (8/256). There are various colors to choose from including Awesome Greygreen (shown above), Charcoal, White, and Lavender.

Samsung Galaxy A57 5G:

The Galaxy A57 5G stands as the bridge between the Galaxy S-series and the Galaxy A-series. It is the most powerful phone in the series, and is also modest.

Samsung is promising 6 years’ worth of Android upgrades across its devices, not just the A57 5G. Our upcoming review of the Galaxy A07 4G, the lowest and most affordable of the series, also is part of this upgrade so consumers won’t feel they missed out on important updates. The Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G, of course, also get this privilege.

The Galaxy A57 5G features a near-identical display as the A37 5G. This means it features the same 120Hz refresh rate and FullHD+ (2380x1080px) resolution. However, the SAMOLED panel is now upgraded to SAMOLED Plus, which is a lot brighter, a lot more color-accurate, and a lot more vibrant.
Aside from the colors, ranging from Awesome Navy, Lilac, Icyblue, and Gray, the main differentiator between this and the A37 5G is the new Exynos 1680 chipset carrying the same AMD RDNA architecture for its Xclipse 530 GPU. Unlike the A56 5G, the Exynos 1680 is designed with more raw performance in mind and now uses a flagship-grade 1+3+4 setup (1 super core, 3 performance cores, and 4 efficiency cores).
Cameras remain largely unchanged from the A37 5G. This was done to make the series much more linear. This means it uses the same 50MP+12MP+5MP setup we mentioned earlier, as well as the same 12MP selfie camera.
The battery also remains largely the same, despite its competitors going for much higher capacities. A 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging powers the A57 5G. The phone lacks a charging brick by the way.
As for everything else, the Galaxy A57 5G features an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio, Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi.

The phone is available starting at PHP 28,990 (8/128), and then PHP 30,990 (8/256), and finally PHP 37,990 (12/512) which can scratch heads for some consumers as the top variant is close in price to the Galaxy S25 FE. Although that phone’s top variant only has 8GB RAM and 512GB ROM, it is superior in everything else including a better display and chipset. On Samsung’s website, it is priced at PHP 45,190 which is only PHP 7,200 away.
Samsung’s currently running a promo as of this writing. Anyone who purchases either the Galaxy A37 or A57 5G will be granted a 40% discount for wearables and accessories like the Galaxy Fit 3, Watch 8, Buds3 FE, and Buds Core.
To purchase either phone, you can visit the brand’s website or go to any Samsung Concept stores nationwide. The newest models should be there. Some authorized third-party sellers also have the phones in stock. Do note that, as of today, March 27, 2026, the phones are listed as “coming soon”.
