It just keeps getting bigger!
Honor Philippines launches its luxurious midranger, the X8d featuring a large 7000mAh battery and a powerful AMOLED display. It also has a new design intended to connect consumers while flaunting style, especially because it resembles the Honor 400.
The Honor X8d is a modest budget phone whose weight is just 188 grams. This makes it comfortable to hold and use anywhere. It also is SGS-certified, and theoretically, able to survive up to 2 meters of drops. It can also withstand raindrops and dirt thanks to the IP65 rating. There are three colors to choose from: Light Blue, Velvet Grey, and Velvet Black.
The main highlight here is the extra large battery. The Honor X8d has a 7000mAh Si/C (Silicon-Carbon) Li-ion battery that is a massive step up from the X8c’s 5000mAh battery. Since the battery has a large capacity, Honor paired the X8d with 45W fast charging, proprietarily named SuperCharge.
In terms of its display, the Honor X8d is about the same size as its predecessor, the X8c. It features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 3000nits of brightness. It also features 3840Hz PWM Dimming which is usually not found for phones within its range.
The phone retains the same camera setup as the X8c. Like it, the X8d features a 108MP primary alongside a 5MP ultrawide. The front camera has sadly been toned down. The X8d now features a 16MP sensor, a step down from the X8c’s 50MP. The camera also has several AI features including AI Eraser, AI Upscale, and AI Remove Reflections.
The Honor X8d features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4 Gen 2. A processor close in performance to the Snapdragon 695. It is a 6nm octa-core chipset featuring the Adreno 610 GPU and a Kryo CPU clocked at 2.9GHz. The Honor X8d has 8GB RAM and a choice between 256 or 512GB storage. By the way, the Honor X8d is 4G-only.
The power button can now be used simultaneously as an action button. This means that it can be used to do certain commands such as taking a screenshot, open apps, clean up, and even open the calculator. It can even be long-pressed to open certain AI features such as Circle-to-Search, AI Summary, and AI Settings Agent, which is Honor’s own AI Assistant ala Siri or Bixby.
The Honor X8d is available to purchase through Lazada and Shopee. It retails for PHP 15,999. Yes, really. If, for any reason, online retailers are not your cup of tea, you can find the phone in Honor’s authorized stores nationwide as well as through any authorized third-party retailers you can find at your local Robinson’s, Ayala, or SM mall.
While it does not have any early bird pricing, the current promo, running from March 19-26, includes a FREE Honor Camping Light Speaker.
