Nubia Releases the V80 Max with a Durable Build and Affordable Price!

Hey, this thing looks like a Samsung

A week ago, ZTE released a new phone, built with durability in mind, as with many new smartphones do. The Nubia V80 Max is an affordable smartphone with a familiar look, IP64 rating, which is rare for the price, and up to 1.8m drop resistance, which is lab-tested by TUV. That means real life experience will be quite different.

It launched for as low as PHP 6,499 (8/128) and comes in black, gold, pink, silver, or purple. The phone comes with a modest spec sheet, sporting a 6.9″ HD+ (1280x720px) IPS LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 780nits peak brightness, 6000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging, an unspecified 4G octa-core chipset, and a 50MP primary camera with a 16MP selfie camera complement. While Nubia didn’t specify the glass protection used, the brand mentioned it has high scratch and drop resistance.

As for sound, the phone has “professional-grade acoustic tuning”, so it might not be 100% stereo speakers. Its other noted feature is the gimmicky AI Scam Alert, which Android’s default messaging app does on its own anyway. This little knickknack claims to protect your phone from potential spam calls and messages.

And speaking of messages, Nubia’s Linkfree feature allows you to call and text for free in areas with poor or no signals, perfect for emergencies. The phone has a waterdrop notch which the brand perfectly camouflaged in images thanks to the all-black wallpaper.

The phone is purchasable on Shopee, TikTok Shop, and Lazada.
