It’s truly magical how they brought it this thin.
Honor officially debuts the Magic V3 as the successor to the Magic V2. It appears that the predecessor is successful enough to bring a third one in, and Honor is claiming this is even slimmer. We couldn’t even imagine how you would fit massively thick parts, such as the camera sensor and battery, onto a device that is only 9.2mm thin when folded. That’s thinner than most slab-form phones!
The brand is also bringing the phone to Globe users via the Globe GPlan 2,499 with a minimum of PHP 31,600 cash out. Do note that if you purchase the foldable through Globe’s plan, the device will be SIM-locked to Globe.
The foldable phone itself costs PHP 89,999 which is pretty good pricing for a foldable, or should we say, it’s typical pricing for a foldable. Now, this is also the same price for the previous phone, so if you’re looking into an Honor foldable, then go straight with this.
The phone has a so-called “Falcon camera system” which includes two 50MP cameras, one of which is a periscopic telephoto, the other is the main camera lens. Though, the brand did not exactly state what sensor it uses for all. It also uses a 40MP ultrawide camera with 112-degrees field of view. Both outer and inner cameras have 20MP sensors for selfies.
The Honor Magic V3, as a flagship, comes with the most sophisticated type of display currently available in the market. The phone reveals a 7.92″ display when unfolded. LTPO3 OLED of course, which means adaptive refresh rates from 1-120Hz, as well as 3840Hz PWM Dimming, so those annoying screen flickers will barely appear, even when taking pictures of the tablet.
When the phone is folded, it becomes a typical-looking smartphone with a 6.43″ LTPO3 OLED display, 4320Hz PWM Dimming, and up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Both folded and unfolded displays support Honor Magic Pen, for the outgoing digital artists out there.
The tablet is protected by “Rhino Glass”, which either could be an alternative to Gorilla Glass, ala Huawei’s Kunlun Glass, or it’s just a fancy way of Honor making its brand more exclusive.
As for performance, it obviously would use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The tablet has 12GB RAM and 512GB ROM. There are no other options available. In terms of battery life, it has a standard 5,150mAh battery paired with 66W fast charging, known proprietarily to Honor as “SuperCharge”.
The tablet has a few extra gimmicks. This includes the RF Chip which Honor claims help extend the phone’s signal acquisition range and stability, as well as an embedded security chip, which encrypts user-sensitive data safely.
Can you imagine fitting an in-display fingerprint sensor onto the tablet? Probably you wouldn’t. You probably could not imagine them fitting a side-mounted either, but they managed to. For those who like to blast music while inside a quiet moving train, the tablet uses stereo speakers with Hi-Res certification, so jam away! The tablet is also water-resistant, IPX8-rated. Though it seems there is no certification for dust protection, which is pretty important for the hinge and prevent the tablet from breaking. The tablet runs Android 14 with MagicOS 8.1 on top.
The tablet comes in three colours. The main one is green, but you can also pick the tablet up in reddish brown and black. To reiterate, the price of the tablet is PHP 89,999 and is also exclusively available via Globe’s GPlan 2,499.
Also, if you purchase the Magic V3 today, you can also get a FREE tablet, the Honor Pad X9, which is worth PHP 9,999. Now you can multi-task with ease and connect with Honor’s growing ecosystem. You can get the tablet through Honor’s experience stores nationwide, and through all major e-commerce channels such as Lazada, TikTok Shop, and Shopee.
Honor Philippines also has an official Facebook community group in which users can share topics about their Honor devices and appliances, ask for help, look for photography tips, join contests and giveaways, and much more. You may join this group through this link.
