Just so we’re clear why it was priced that way
Itel launched its first flip phone but it’s something of a true reminiscing of a classic instead of the modern touchscreen Android type. You can tell from this strange makeup set-like appearance with the posterior of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series, and not to mention, a keypad.
The phone is squarish in design. Even its display is a small box like the old flip phones in the early 2000s. The main display is just as big as most cover displays found on clamshell Android phones. It is a 2.4″ IPS LCD screen. Don’t ask what the refresh rate here is.
The phone uses a proprietary software made by Itel. It comes with Opera Browser built in so you can connect to the internet, just like what an Android phone does. It features an 8MP rear camera and a small LED flash. For this retro-like phone, the storage is counted depending on how many contacts, songs, or messages it can carry (unlike the Nokia keypad phones, which does state the amount they have). In this case, 2000 contacts and 100 messages.
It has a wireless FM radio as well. This phone is perfect for the nostalgic types, for those who want to take a break from smartphone fatigue, or the old ones. It charges via USB-C and has dual SIM connectivity. If this was released between 2000-2007, this would have been very high-tech, and would probably be more expensive.
It sells for Rs. 6,499 (~PHP 1.3K) which is very affordable indeed. The most basic of all basic phones. For now, it is exclusively sold for Pakistani users.
