Another Redmi budget phone is available. How do you like your software bloat?

What you’re seeing is the Redmi 13. If you’re familiar with Xiaomi, then you’ll notice its design is almost taken from the Redmi Note 13 Turbo, which makes the phone already attractive to some users. Although, specs-wise, it is obviously much weaker. It also appears that Xiaomi has joined in on the ring light trend that Vivo once started. Brands use this type of flash so you can mimic those beautiful portrait shots seen on magazines, as if you’re using a dedicated ring light.

The Redmi 13 is your typical Redmi budget phone. Its main highlight revolves around its 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 primary camera. Yes, you can do 3x lossless zoom on this, but the quality won’t be as great as with dedicated telephoto sensors. The lossless zoom feature comes from the magic of pixel binning wherein the phone captures a 27MP image, multiply it four times, then gives you the result. This results in a sharper image.

Don’t let the marketing term “ultra” deceive you. There is nothing “ultra” about the Helio G91. In fact, it’s quite an inferior chipset versus the G88 and G91. The chipset supports an outdated eMMC 5.1 storage, which means slower read and write times. This can cause lower-than-expected performance decrease over time and the phone may have a hard time copying or writing big files.

It has a typical battery size of 5000mAh, paired with 33W fast charging. It charges via USB-C of course. It also has a headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. You’re not getting AMOLED with this. Here, you have a 6.8″ 90Hz IPS LCD screen with FullHD+ (2460x1080px) resolution.

As you read from the title, you can get the phone for PHP 7,999 (8/256). It comes in four colours: Midnight Black, Ocean Blue, Sandy Gold, and Pearl Pink. It is available in Lazada and in Xiaomi concept stores nationwide.
