ICYMI: The realme C61 Was Launched in India! Sports 45W Fast Charging

It’s a budget phone, your usual realme C-series.

A month ago, realme launched the C61 to Indian users, though not yet in the Philippines. It’s a watered-down C65 featuring the same 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging. Its marketing materials also push for durability, saying it is “tough as steel” despite being clearly made of plastic, which, to no one’s surprise, isn’t as tough as steel.

See, that part of the marketing is due to the usage of an unspecified glass that is TUV Rheinland-certified. This isn’t the first time realme used a standards measurement as a form of marketing material because outside of this “durability”, the phone isn’t something special.

It’s got the usual characteristics of a C-series phone. Namely the 6.55″ HD+ (1612x720px) IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate. As for performance, you’re getting a UNISOC Tiger T612 chipset with 4 or 6GB RAM and either 64 or 128GB storage. By this day and age, these two are getting more dated. Also, the Tiger T612 is only marginally better than the Helio G85.

The usual 50MP+2MP depth remains here, alongside an 8MP selfie situated on a dewdrop notch. It features a USB-C port, a MicroSD Card Slot, and of course, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 5.0. It goes without saying that the phone has Wi-Fi 5.0 built-in.

Prices start at INR 7,699 (~PHP 5.4K | 4/64), INR 8,499 (~PHP 5.9K | 4/128), and INR 8,999 (~PHP 6.3K | 6/128). There are two colours available: Safari Green and Marble Black.
