The Infinix GT20 Pro is the ULTIMATE Mobile Legends Device

The phone is essentially a gamified Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus.

Infinix launched the GT20 Pro in the Philippines as one of the most affordable gaming phones available, and mainly as the Infinix counterpart to the Tecno POVA 6. We’re sure hoping you did not buy that Note 40 Pro Plus and instead had the patience to get this, or you might regret your decision later on… Wait hold on, why are we seeing so many Note 40 smartphones listed in Facebook Marketplace?

Kidding aside, the phone is essentially a jacked up Note 40 Pro Plus with a much more appropriate chipset for the gamers Infinix is targeting. Inside is a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, a 4nm chipset that’s essentially just a slightly watered down Dimensity 9200. The phone has 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM. The phone is also the official smartphone for the Pros at MPL, a competition spearheaded by Mobile Legends. The phone has a so-called gaming chip made by Pixelworks which provides smooth experiences of up to 120FPS, although that might depend on the game.

It retains the same good features of the Note 40 Pro Plus, including a 108MP Primary camera with two others not worth mentioning, a ring light flash, stereo speakers tuned by JBL that feels gimmicky, 45W fast charging and Infinix’s proprietary bypass charging, a method that allows you to game while you charge. This works by using the power from the plug instead of the battery, prolonging battery life and minimizing damage; and finally, a 6.78″ FullHD+ (2400x1080px) AMOLED screen with 360Hz touch sampling rate and, get this, 144Hz refresh rate for the first time in any budget gaming phone!

By the way, that semicircle design isn’t just for show, it’s also a notification LED and features different RGB lighting. Taking inspiration from many gaming peripherals which offer RGB, as well as Nothing Phone’s glyph lighting, you can choose among four lighting effects and 8 lighting combos to show off to your friends. This is called “Mecha Loop” by Infinix engineers.

The phone is listed via Infinix’s official Shopee and it’s quite the champ. It’s affordable at PHP 16,199. Did we forget to mention it has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage? By the way, Infinix is offering a 2+3 update scheme and “clean and pure OS with no bloatware”. The 2+3 update scheme refers to two Android upgrades and three years worth of security. Fewer than most brands but at least, it’s something.

It is also available on Lazada and TikTok, as well as third party authorized stores nationwide.
