ICYMI: The POCO X6 and X6 Pro Are Released in the Philippines! Basically Rebranded Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi K70e

Rebadging, because creating a new design is too expensive.

Approximately a month ago, POCO released the X6 series. The reason why we did not prioritize this one a lot is because we already made an article about these two phones before, and repeating the same thing with slight changes just is not in our priority list. Still, the phones are worth discussing even if it’s just a rebadge. Not an uncommon practice for Xiaomi to do. They’ve done this since their heyday.

POCO X6:

The POCO X6 exists as a separate identity and brand called the Redmi Note 13 Pro. The main difference is that tiny logo on the top right corner which we think is kind of a weird placement but alright. Since it’s the Redmi Note 13 Pro for a different market, the specs should be the same.

Flipping at the front, you are greeted by a 6.67″ 1.5K (2772x1220px) AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi calls the display as “CrystalRes”, what a fancy name. On top of this display is the 16MP selfie camera which Xiaomi has been using for almost 4 years now.

Speaking of cameras, flip the back and you’ll find three of them. The main one is a 64MP camera, the secondary is 8MP, and the third is a 2MP depth helper which should have no place anymore in this time of year.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is what powers this phone, like the Redmi Note 13 Pro. The phone comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage or 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. Expandable? Only the RAM, the gimmicky virtual RAM.

It features a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging. To help with the charging, Xiaomi installed two chips inside. These are the Surge P2 charging chip and Surge G1 battery chip. The former allows for the most optimal charging rate while the latter ensures that the phone’s battery is in tip-top conditions. It is one of the first phones globally to launch HyperOS to boot instead of MIUI 14. It’s still based on Android 14, however.

We discussed more about MIUI when the Xiaomi SU7 first came out in China, the brand’s first-ever electric vehicle.

The POCO X6 is priced at PHP 14,999 (8/256), PHP 14,999 (12/256), and PHP 15,999 (12/512). It comes in three different colours, simply named Black, Blue, and White.

POCO X6 PRO:

Redmi’s K series is renowned for their superior price-to-specs ratio. They are flagship killers similar to how the X and F series are from POCO are treated. That’s why it’s appropriate to see that the Redmi K70e make its way globally, albeit under a new identity called “POCO X6 Pro”. Having all your units brought globally lowers the chances of users finding them through grey imports and thus, get a warranty and guarantees.

It was speculated early on that one of the K70 phones would become a POCO phone once launched outside of China and this turned out to be true (kind of a safe bet really), and the POCO X6 Pro was reborn from the shell of the Redmi K70e.

The front side features the same type of display as the POCO X6, that is the 6.67″ 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED, as well as the 16MP selfie camera. There are three cameras at the back too, identical to what the POCO X6 is having.

The main differentiator, aside from the POCO Yellow offering, is the chipset, a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra. There’s really not much difference between the Ultra and the regular variant except the former is slightly higher-clocked. It comes with the same storage options as the POCO X6.

The POCO X6 also comes with the same 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging as the base phone. Both phones also have an IR Blaster to control your appliances, either through infrared waves or through Wi-Fi. The phone boots with HyperOS based on Android 14.

It comes again in three colours, including POCO Yellow. The other two are Black and Grey. Its prices are not that far off. Initially, it is priced at PHP 16,999 (8/256) and PHP 19,999 (12/512).

The phones are available through online platforms where POCO is available such as Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop. If you’re lucky, you may be able to find the phone sold by third-party retailers but warranty can be pulled up into question.
