One Redmi Note 13, All variations and clones!
Another Redmi Note series is announced, the 13th generation in fact. With every Redmi Note 13 comes a confusing amount of variants, including, but not limited to, Redmi Note 13 Pro, Redmi Note 13T, Redmi Note 13 4G, Redmi Note 13 Pro Max, and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. The number of prefixes you can add to them is just endless. Sometimes, they can even be phones released before, just renamed, such as with the Redmi Note 10 Lite and Redmi Note 9S.
For the launch, two phones are highlighted. The Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+. The former features a leather back and a flat 1.5K AMOLED panel with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. This chip is positioned higher than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and lower than the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. There’s no base Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset.
The new SD7sG2 is made by a Samsung-fabricated N4P node, or in layman terms, 4nm. It uses a 4+4 setup consisting of a 2.4GHz ARM Cortex-A78 main core and a 1.95GHz ARM Cortex-A55 efficiency core. It uses an Adreno 710 GPU and according to AnTuTu, this chipset scored around 550,000 points which is just right for this type of chip. The Redmi Note 13 Pro is likely to come with 8 or 12GB RAM and either 256 or 512GB internal storage.
The phone also uses a 200MP primary camera. Though unconfirmed to whether what sensor it uses, most likely the Samsung ISOCELL HP3. They are the only ones known to use such high resolution on a mass-produced scale. Omnivision has too but their 200MP is not as widespread as Samsung’s.
As for the Pro Plus, it uses an enhanced version of the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset called the Dimensity 7200-Ultra. Like the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, the chipset is based on a 4nm node but manufactured by TSMC. It also uses the ARM Cortex-A715 main core and ARM Cortex-A510 efficiency core.
The phone retains the same sensor as the Redmi Note 12 Pro+, the Samsung ISOCELL HP3. It uses a Quad-Bayer binning process with each image binned to 50MP. Neither resolution is practical outside of professional use. 200MP images shot natively requires a big storage space and many websites cannot load them properly, while 50MP shots get compressed by social media platforms.
As for the design, it uses a marble-like texture at the back so there is a chance the phone uses a ceramic coating. The phone also uses a curved AMOLED display, possibly not made by Samsung considering the issues surrounding SAMOLED. As the image suggests, an in-display fingerprint scanner is present. The phone has 144Hz refresh rate.
These two will be released on September 21st in China.
