You still can’t put stuff inside it though, it just looks like one.
Aside from the Magic V2, in IFA 2023, Honor also revealed its concept phone, a modified Magic V2 called the V Purse (not from the Magic line). The V Purse is not intended to be sold, as Honor positioned it as a concept phone.
The concept is not entirely new, as Huawei in 2019, with the Mate X previewed a similar concept, an outward-facing phone. With US Sanctions in the line, the Honor V Purse is the closest North Americans may see when it comes to this concept. Its wrapping display also reminds us of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha, another phone with a similar concept.
What makes it unique however, is its chain-link attachments which you can hook up a latch on it to make it appear like a purse, hence the name. This way, you can hold the phone through your shoulders, and hopefully, it doesn’t slide and fall, then the screen cracks.
When held out like this, Honor envisions you can make a fashion statement out of the phone with its custom AOD screens. So, in a way, it’s like a digital purse more than a phone. These custom AOD screens are designed by several fashion designers, including Burberry Menswear design director Bram Van Diepen, Contemporary Artist Yunuene Esparza, China Art Academy Dean Yuan Youmin, and interdisciplinary artist Xiao Hui Wang.
