Someone already has taken the supercharger.
The Realme GT series is the company’s belated answer to the POCO F series. It would make sense, as “F” is usually reserved for Formula 1 cars and defines speed. So here’s Realme with its grand tourers.
The fifth iteration of the device comes with a unique camera island design and a premium metallic back. It also comes with two battery sizes and two charging speed options: 5240mAh@150W and 4600mAh@240W, as if the former isn’t already fast enough, let’s add another valve to that to upgrade it from a V8 to a V10 engine. However, to help them settle their differences, both phones are available in different configurations. Following the footsteps of the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro, the latter, with 240W fast charging, comes with 24GB PHYSICAL RAM and 1TB Storage
Whichever version of the Realme GT5 you choose, you’ll still receive a phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset inside, so everyone here is a winner. Both iterations also come with a 9-layer 20,872mm2 vapour chamber so you won’t need to fry eggs on it.
Let’s get to the front. Here, you would be greeted with a 1.5K (2772x1240px) flat AMOLED screen with an insanely rapid 144Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM Dimming. Its contrast ratio is 5,000,000:1. Whether the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass is unknown as Realme didn’t say anything about it. You will also see the 16MP Samsung S5K3P9 front camera here. Nothing special.
Speaking of cameras, the rear features a 50MP Sony IMX890 Primary camera with OIS, an 8MP Ultrawide, and a 2MP Macro. At the right side is a notification LED, usually in white. It appears that every “flagship killer” uses this setup for their cameras. To be frank, the Sony IMX890 is already magnificent on its own and can perform independently, plus camera parts are expensive.
It has an in-display fingerprint reader, 5G services, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. It comes in Silver and Green with the following prices:
Realme GT5 5240mAh@150W:
- 12/256: CNY 2,999 (~PHP 23.3K)
- 16/512: CNY 3,299 (~PHP 25.7K)
Realme GT5 4600mAh@240W:
- 24/1TB: CNY 3,799 (~PHP 29.5K)
Do note that, due to import duties, if ever the phones are released here, they would become more pricey, yet competitive enough in the flagship killer space.
