Google I/O: The Google Pixel Tablet is now slated in the United States!

Curvy, definitely looks like a Pixel alright with those warm pastel-like colours.

Aside from the Pixel 7A and Pixel Fold, the company announced the Pixel tablet. Though not the company’s first tablet (the Pixel series did start from a tablet after all, the Pixel C, way back in 2015), it is nice to see them making a follow-up after a long wait.

Now, what’s with this new tablet? For starters, like its cousins, the Pixel tablet has a Tensor G2 chipset paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and either 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

The display is a WQXGA+ (2560x1600px) IPS LCD screen with sadly only a 60Hz refresh rate and up to 500nits of brightness. It also has an antibacterial coating and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

As a tablet, cameras are not the highest priority. So the Pixel Tablet is equipped with two 8MP cameras. One at the back and one at the front.

Unlike other tablets, Google measured the battery capacity in Watt-hours. The Pixel Tablet has a 27Whr battery with 15W fast charging which is again sold separately. It can also be charged via a speaker dock. Assuming that the tablet has a 5V*3A output, the tablet has a 5400mAh battery which is not pretty high for tablet standards.

Like many modern tablets, the Pixel Tablet has a quad-speaker system and triple microphones. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. In connectivity, you have Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port. There’s also a magnetic connector for you to connect accessories such as a kickstand and cover.

It is available in select regions like the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Denmark, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, Netherlands, and Sweden. Official rollouts begin in June.

Like the rest of the Pixel series, no Philippine release is imminent. We’ll let you know once there is.
