This is the Oppo Find X6. It comes with the all-new MediaTek Dimensity 9200 flagship chipset and Hasselblad collaboration

This was made possible thanks to the merger between Oppo and OnePlus.

Circular camera humps seem to be the new trend in ultra flagship smartphone designs. Samsung is the only major company we know of that has not adapted yet to this change, and yet their new Galaxy S23 Ultra never looked outdated.

Now we’re taking a quick look at Oppo’s next-gen flagship offering, the X6 series. It flaunts an entirely new design that makes it distinct from the X5 series. Of course, we’re still hoping for a Philippines release, and hopefully, it would be executed much better. Its promising showcase in MWC 2023 and sneak peek from our fellow colleagues give us some shimmer of hope.

Flagship at its finest, from the viewing experience to the sounds

One of the main colours of the Find X6 Pro features a dual-tone finish. The phone itself is made of virgin leather. However, two other colours, Green and Black, are made of glass. These two colours look very similar to the OnePlus 11 5G.

The regular version gets a glossy glass Gold colour instead which doesn’t make it any less premium.

Specs that stand out from the crowd

In terms of specs, it flaunts a tall 6.74″ QHD+ (2772x1440px) LTPO3 curved AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Like similar flagship displays, you’d also come to expect HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. This type of protection is very similar to its predecessor but has a higher emphasis on fall protection at the cost of scratch protection, though the differences are minimal.

It uses the newest flagship chipset from MediaTek, the Dimensity 9200. This chipset includes the new Immortalis GPU, replacing the Mali GPU found on almost all chipsets prior to it. In particular, this one uses the Immortalis G-715 with an 11-core GPU. This, in theory, should prove very capable in every task. From smooth scrolling to camera processing to heavy gaming, and everything in between.

Perfected camera engineering

Oppo’s main strength lies in its camera engineering. This is why the Find X6 is fitted with the best possible cameras on a flagship, including the all-new 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera alongside a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 ultrawide, and another 50MP Sony IMX890 to make for its high-res periscopic telephoto lens. These two Sony cameras have OIS, and as for the ultrawide? Sadly, it’s a midrange sensor so it doesn’t get that much fancy features.

These cameras can produce up to 4K@60fps video, though Oppo’s listing strangely does not mention 8K capabilities when other phones of the same caliber can do it.

The front camera is an RGBW sensor, the 32MP Sony IMX709 which was also found on other flagships, such as the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G.

These sensors are designed to take advantage of Hasselblad’s colour calibration which enhances colour accuracy and it’s finetuned to match that of professional cameras. First appearing with the OnePlus 9 Pro, it now makes its way on future OnePlus and Oppo phones. Aside from that, the resulting photos are further enhances thanks to its dedicated MariSilicon X NPU chip which learns the environment around it, giving a full-to-life, rich photo. This NPU made its appearance first on the Oppo X5 series.

A battery that lasts, chargers that are fast

It has an endurant 4800mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC USB-C fast charging but no support for wireless charging, probably cost-cutting measures. The Pro version has it though, alongside a slightly faster 100W fast charging method.

Made with the latest connectivity in mind

It has 5G services of course, alongside Wi-Fi 7, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Qualcomm aptX audio codec, Hi-Res audio support, stereo speakers, and LDHC so for the audiophiles out there, they could really experience the sound as if it was taken in front of them. Truly immersive.

Commitment to customer satisfaction

Also, another great thing about this is that Oppo is committing 4 years of major Android upgrades and 5 years of security update, making the phone a great investment

There is no release for the Philippines yet, but we’d like to confirm that. Once we do, we’ll let you know. Its price in China starts at CNY 4,499 (~Php 35.8K)
