The Redmi K60 series is now live! A phone with competitive specs

Just as expected with the Redmi K series. A flagship-killer at its finest

Two phones of the Redmi K series, the K60 and K60 Pro, are now official in China. A company needs to top its predecessor to the other, and the K50 series, including the Gaming Edition, is already pretty top-notch flagship killers, so how will Redmi top that?

They really didn’t have to. Don’t fix what’s not broken, as they say. And so, Redmi continued on the gaming aesthetics of the previous phone and improved on that. On top of that is an affordable price tag. On paper, the specs are way too good to be true. But they are real.

Redmi K60 Pro

The Redmi K60 Pro is a gaming flagship-killer. We can’t wait what POCO’s going to call this one. It has a 6.67in. OLED screen with a 2K resolution (3200x1440px), 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 1400nits of peak brightness, and 12-bit colour support. So the display will definitely stand out and videos would look more vibrant and lively. This display also houses the 16MP front camera. The display is manufactured by TCL, a company with their own line of smartphones and known for their televisions.

There are three cameras at the back. The main camera is a 50MP Sony IMX800 sensor with OIS. Combined are two useless auxiliaries, the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP 4cm macro.

As a flagship, it uses the new-generation 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. One of the first phones to use it. It is paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage. Inside you will also find a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging coupled with 30W fast wireless. It charges via a USB-C port. Of course, you would want to game on this, and just like the previous handsets of the series, it features a VC cooling plate with Liquid cooling.

On AnTuTu, the phone scored a whopping 1,350,526 points. The highest score of any phone currently.

It comes with an IR Blaster, NFC, Hi-Res Audio, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top.

SPECS:

Redmi K60

The base variant is nearly identical to the Pro. There are some differences though. It has the same display, same ports and peripherals, and the same camera auxiliaries . The primary camera was switched from a 54MP Sony IMX800 to a 64MP camera with OIS, though Xiaomi did not specify this time the name of the sensor. The front camera is still 16MP

The chipset was slightly downgraded to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. Because of that, it now has up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. Slightly slower read and write but a casual user won’t really feel the difference.

It also has an X-Axis linear motor, IR Blaster, liquid cooling plate, and a larger 5500mAh battery with slightly slower 67W fast charging. The 30W fast wireless charging was kept.

It is available in China in Blue, Green, Black, and White. Price starts at CNY 2,499 for the 8/128 configuration.

SPECS:

Both handsets are now available in China. Globally, we expect a rebrand from POCO.
