Truly a gaming phone by design, because not everyone can afford an ROG phone.
The newest POVA series took a step forward in terms of design. True to their original purpose, the phones now look more aggressive and game-y as ever! The POVA 4 and Neo 2 share almost the same geometric design. We honestly love it as it helps stand out from the rest of the crowd.
The POVA Neo 2 retained the most beloved feature of the POVA series. That is the large battery, and here, it’s almost tablet-sized, with a capacity of 7000mAh. However, charging is a little slow, only 18W. Another feature of the POVA series is its high refresh rate screens that are now becoming essential for gaming. Here, it is a 6.82in HD+ (1600x720px) IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. We’re hoping to see FHD+ here but this must be due to cost-cutting reasons.
Inside is the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. Popular now because it is optimized, paired with 6GB RAM (+5GB Virtual RAM) and 128GB internal storage. It has its own game engine that helps improve gameplay as well as making performance smooth.
It still has a long way to go. This phone do not have any additional connectors nor is Tecno providing extra accessories, such as a cooling fan, to help keep temperature tip-top especially during long hours. There are also no trigger pads here, not that we expect it anyway. But seeing a gaming-like phone at this range is always welcome, especially due to the unique design it offers.
There is a 13MP+2MP depth sensor at the back and a waterdrop notch housing the 8MP camera. It launched first in Russia and now it’s making its way here. Available for Php9,999, the phone is massively discounted to just Php 6,799 and that’s really big.
It is available in Lazada with currently only one colour: Uranolith Grey. Tecno’s Facebook post hints that the phone’s release is intentional in order to prepare for 11.11. Tecno and Infinix’s phones sell like hotcakes because they are now way more affordable than Xiaomi’s offerings.
