DepEd, you know what to choose
Infinix has released a notebook, every smartphone manufacturer apparently wants to have a piece of the laptop market so here we are with Tecno. Their bet is on the Megabook T1. To really catch your attention, they have equipped it with specs that don’t sync well with its price… in a good way of course.
The laptop was teased last month and it appeared once more at the IFA 2022 event. Tecno has now brought the laptop in the Philippines with some of the most competitive specs you can see on the market.
The laptop features a large 15.6in. screen and backlit keyboard with a numpad. The screen itself has a resolution of 1920x1080px and features 350nits of brightness, DC Dimming, and is TUV-Rheinland certified. It also comes with a large trackpad and a power button-embedded fingerprint reader.
These days, even 8GB is considered “budget” and that is no longer enough even for productivity users. So the MegaBook made itself future-proof by coming with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and either 512GB or 1TB SSD storage. However if you’re satisfied with just 8GB RAM, Tecno is also offering that.
Speaking of performance, the laptop uses a 10th-generation Intel Core i5 (i5-1035G7) which unfortunately is two generations behind but with its price offering, we couldn’t really blame Tecno’s choice. Inside is the
It comes with a 70Whr battery and 65W fast charging. It charges via USB-C
It has a standard set of ports. namely, two USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5mm jack, a Kensington Lock, a Reset button, two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, and a single USB 3.1 port. It also has an SD Card reader.
As for sound, Tecno has developed its own sound enhancement system called Tecno VOC (not Tech-Voc). This includes the signature DTS Audio technology and Dual-mic + AI ENC technology to make the sound coming from its stereo speakers loud, clear, rich, and immersive. We’re not sure how far these go through.
It comes in four colours which all have a colourful matte-and-pastel finish. The laptop itself can stretch down to a full 180 degrees and also has a metallic frame. It is slim and lightweight. It is only 14.8mm thick and only 1.48kg in weight, including the battery inside.
Anyway, the four colours are Rome Mint, Champagne Gold, Monet Violet, and Space Grey. In the Philippines, the laptop is available in Lazada. It starts at a surprisingly affordable price of Php 28,790 and goes all the way to Php 34,790
DepEd would probably curate it for 10x the price.
