With a design that resembles the Realme 9 Pro+. Xiaomi isn’t being subtle on which phone they’re going up against
Xiaomi has come a long way, retaining the philosophy of bringing top-notch specs at an aggressively low price point. This continues with the Redmi Note series, the company’s mainstream series with the aim of delivering high performance that anyone could afford.
If you think the company’s done with the Redmi Note 11 Pro+, wait ’til you hear the more updated Note 11T Pro and Pro+ series. Xiaomi’s reputation for naming isn’t really the best but when it comes to delivering top-notch smartphones, they’re on their mark. However, they also have a tendency to release a more “pro” version of their phone with minimal differences. The Pro+ should have been the Pro, while the “Pro” phone should have just been called “Redmi Note 11T”. Better yet, they can call the base phone as it is (Redmi Note 11T) and the one with slightly improved specs (or if any, thereof) “Redmi Note 11T Plus” or something like that. See the logic we’re trying to explain here? It’s a series of confusing events.
REDMI NOTE 11 PRO/PRO+
Let’s get things out of the bush first. Both the Redmi Note 11T Pro and Pro+ share the same design and same materials, using aluminum for the frame. The two only differ in terms of their battery capacity as well as charging. So we’ll keep this compressed.
Both phones use a 6.6in. FHD+ (2400x1080px) IPS LCD with 144Hz refresh rate. The departure from AMOLED may be a downgrade but this was fairly compensated with a refresh rate only gaming phones could relate to, as well as a few high-end Motorola phones. The refresh rate is adaptive and can go as low as 30Hz.
Inside the phones are a Mediatek Dimensity 8100 chipset. A chipset that could give the Snapdragon 888 and 870 a run for their money. This is paired with 6 or 8GB RAM and either 128 or 256GB storage for the Pro, and 8GB RAM with 128 or 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage for the Pro+
A 64mp Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor has been selected to be the phone’s main camera sensor. The phone is intended to give the best performance possible so they had to cut down costs by using mediocre cameras. While Xiaomi didn’t state the other two lenses. It’s an easy guess. It would be an 8mp ultrawide and either a 2mp macro or depth. Whichever they use doesn’t affect the camera performance at all. The front camera is 16mp sitting in the middle of the display.
As we stated, batteries are their main distinguishing points, with the Pro getting a 5080mAh battery with 67W fast charging. The Pro+ has a smaller battery but also faster charging (a peculiar combination, to be honest). The capacity is 4400mAh while the charging rate is 120W. Choose between larger batteries or faster charging. The Pro+ is equipped with Xiaomi’s Surge P1 chip to maintain temperature. The company claimed that a charge from a flat battery to full takes about 19 minutes.
Both have an IP53 rating and come with side-mounted fingerprint scanners. Both come in three colours sporting a premium and linear design. These are the Atomic Silver, Time Blue, and Midnight Black colours. In addition, a limited-edition Astro Boy livery is available in China specifically for the 8/512 variant of the Pro+.
Prices are as follows:
REDMI NOTE 11T PRO:
- 6/128: CNY 1,799 (~Php 14.1K)
- 8/256: CNY 2,199 (~Php 17.3K)
REDMI NOTE 11T PRO+

- 8/256: CNY 2,499 (~Php 19.6K)
- 8/256 Astro Boy Edition: CNY 2,499 (~Php 19.6K)
We’ll let you know when these phones are out internationally. Though, we’re dubious about the limited-edition Astro Boy edition actually releasing globally.
Oh, Xiaomi also released the Redmi Note 11 SE in China. You didn’t miss anything, if you own a Poco M4 Pro 5G, then you basically own the global version of that.
